FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 Try and book your newborn photography sessions before your third trimester giving at least 6 weeks advanced notice. Book a session before your baby is here, now I know there's a lot going on but always good to check it off the list. If you missed the newborn sessions, then 3 months is a great starting point! Otherwise, I suggest waiting to photograph your bundle of joy between 6-8 months of age. All those milestones such as sitting up, laughing and possibly standing with assistance allows me much more options in posing for your session.

Children and familes are photographed on-location using a mix of natural light and strobes. This really depends on how light filled a space is or public.  I am happy to come to your house or meet in a mutually agreed location. DC has many amazing monuments, urban landscapes  and lush foliage parks so just ask me for some ideas. If photographing in your home pick up excess clutter like you would if guests or relatives were coming over. Travel 20 miles outside of Washington DC is an additional .58 per mile.

Baby/Kids photography sessions take place typically in the morning and sometimes late afternoons depending on the time of year for outdoor sessions. Also, its always good to make sure that your kids are well rested and well fed and we will do the rest.

Your session will last about 1-1.5 hours. For newborns a bit more so we fit a feeding here and there (no worries for newborns I won't be looking at my watch...I'll have the utmost patience). My goal is to make sure we capture the best moments during our session.

Each full session fee is weekdays $250 and weekends $350 which includes my time, travel, skills and use of equipment during our photo shoot. Purchasing digital image packagse start at $500. Most clients spend an average of $850-$2,000.

Firstly, please be mindful and cancel a week prior. If weather/rain related and our session is outdoors we will watch the weather a couple days before and can reschedule if it rains indeed rain. Also, if COVID-19 pandemic requires us to cancel the session, we will reschedule to the next possible date.

I understand how important choosing the best outfits are for your family photo shoot. Remember during our per-consultation we can discuss the outfit style best suited for you and your family, location or locations and most important of all how to prepare for the best outcome. I would be more than happy to help with choosing the outfits with a background in fashion myself promise it will be pain free. Just keep in mind you want timeless…no big logos and try to dress it up a bit.

All retouching is done on a case to case basis. Wrinkles are usually very easy to remove (though, if you're interested, please let me know ahead of time). Stray hairs, blemishes, moles and scratches I can easily get rid just let me know when you select the images you want for editing. Now if your request involves extensive or complicated Photoshop work and out of my scoop of work then I'll have to get a quote from a professional re-toucher. I will let you know ahead of time as well.

My standard turnaround time for viewing your gallery to make choices is less than a week. After you make your choices 1-1.5 weeks for digital delivery for full and mini sessions. Wanting a USB sent to you? You will receive one with a full session but not with mini session.

I shoot in RAW format so every image will be handled with some sort of application. So in other words no, I don't give away the images that won't be fully edited and purchased. I take pride in my editing style and attention to detail so I want to make sure each single image is perfect for my clients.

Well I go all out on my Holiday Mini Sessions and truly hold close to my heart since 2011. This year things will be different to adhere to social distancing rules so we will be scheduling only outdoor mini sessions for 2020.
